Job Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Loma Linda University Medical Center provides comprehensive anesthesia care to patients of all ages. This role is designed for new graduates who have successfully passed the National Certification Examination administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.

Under the supervision of a CRNA or anesthesiologist, the CRNA determines age-specific anesthesia plans, communicates effectively throughout the anesthetic episode, and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice. The CRNA also utilizes discretion and independent judgment in the delivery of whole-person care, practices within the CRNA scope of practice, and follows Loma Linda University Medical Center policies and protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive anesthesia care to patients of all ages
  • Determines age-specific anesthesia plans
  • Communicates effectively throughout the anesthetic episode
  • Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice
  • Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in the delivery of whole-person care
  • Practices within the CRNA scope of practice
  • Follows Loma Linda University Medical Center policies and protocols

Requirements:

  • Valid California Registered Nurse license
  • Current certification by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications by the American Heart Association
