Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain complete and appropriate drug therapy in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical care environment.
  • Assume responsibility for the management of pharmacy services, ensuring patients receive complete and appropriate drug therapy and improving patient outcomes.
  • Provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers, resolving prior authorizations and insurance billing on behalf of the patient and provider.
  • Oversee the Patient Advocate team, performing drug utilization review and checks for appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with the Specialty Fulfillment team to ensure timely receipt of medications and compliance with drug therapy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Preferred)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency (Work Experience Required)
  • None (Preferred) 2 years experience as pharmacist, experience in specialty pharmacy (Certification Required)
  • License to practice Pharmacy by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy (Preferred)
  • Multi-state licensure
Skills and Abilities
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, presenting information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role, and keyboard.
Work Environment

This role is based in a healthcare setting, with potential exposure to hazardous medications and hazardous waste. The incumbent must be able to adapt to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communicating effectively.
