Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Structural Dynamics and Environments Department, you will provide expertise in dynamic environments and environmental test to support the Missile Defense Agency and other customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test requirements for SMC-S-016 and other military tests standards
  • Participate in requirements tailoring and implementation, assessing system design options and performance tradeoffs
  • Provide technical assessments of acoustics, shock, vibration analysis, and test requirements
  • Lead test planning and on-site test support for development, qualification, and acceptance testing of units and payloads
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to develop and implement test plans and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • Minimum 8 years of industry-related experience in structural mechanics engineering
  • Strong technical leadership skills and familiarity with analytical and test techniques for shock, vibration, and acoustics environments
  • Experience with applying, editing, tailoring, and maintaining shock, vibration, and acoustics environmental standards
  • Ability to build interdisciplinary teams and foster effective interpersonal relationships
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a STEM field or related discipline
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency customer programs
  • Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and other military tests standards
