The Rural Metro team is seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to join our crew. As a national leader in private fire protection services, we provide compassionate and quality medical care primarily in emergency and patient relocation services.

About the Role:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $15.50 (non-negotiable) for this full-time opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for answering incoming calls from clients and patients while maintaining a professional demeanor. They will also ensure accurate charges, diagnoses, and service levels are identified and documented according to corporate and carrier compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide professional customer service to patients, their agents, insurance companies, and other individuals who contact our business office.
  • Communication: Interact with staff members to resolve problems and ensure all communication is positive and productive.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding confidential financial information and medical information for specific patients.
  • Prioritization: Schedule priorities to meet deadlines as determined by management.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma is required. Experience in the emergency medical transport industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, along with knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims processing is a plus.
  • One year of healthcare customer service experience is desired, as well as experience in public safety or medical services.
