Position Overview
The Operations Specialist is a pivotal role within the School of Data Science and Society. This position encompasses dual responsibilities, serving as both the facilities coordinator and providing essential administrative support to the finance and operations team.
Key Responsibilities
As the facilities coordinator, the Operations Specialist will:
- Oversee building access and security protocols.
- Collaborate with university facilities personnel to address maintenance issues.
- Assist in the execution of space management strategies.
- Manage the budget allocated for the School's facilities.
In the capacity of administrative support, the Operations Specialist will:
- Lead recruitment initiatives and coordinate onboarding processes for new personnel.
- Provide high-level administrative assistance to the Associate Dean for Finance & Operations.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be obtained from accredited institutions.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite is advantageous.
Physical Requirements
The candidate must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment
This position typically follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with standard working hours. A hybrid work arrangement may be available, in accordance with university policies. Employees are generally expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned work location.
