Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist for a rewarding nursing position in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
About the OpportunityThis role offers an estimated annual salary of $85,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide exceptional patient care and support in our mental health unit. As a Mental Health Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with complex psychiatric needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, preferably in a psychiatric setting, and excellent communication skills. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and participate in therapeutic milieu activities to promote patient well-being.
Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, documenting patient information accurately, establishing therapeutic relationships, participating in patient rounds, completing patient assignments, and identifying patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations.
You will also be required to follow established Nursing policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency by completing mandatory in-service requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and support in our mental health unit
- Document patient information accurately and timely
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients
- Participate in patient rounds and team meetings
- Complete patient assignments and prioritize tasks effectively
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and intervene accordingly
- Follow established Nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
