The Patient Care Assistant utilizes a combination of cognitive, social, and technical abilities to deliver fundamental patient support.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Assistant provides essential, direct bedside assistance to patients across a range of age groups as specified by departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with personal hygiene
- Collecting and observing patient data
- Monitoring vital signs
- Documenting intake and output
- Utilizing medical equipment
- Supporting activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Responding to call lights
- Identifying and reacting to emergency situations

Required Qualifications:
National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
