Job Summary


This role within the Conservation and Load Management (C&LM) team is responsible for overseeing the design, execution, and operational needs of both new and existing residential energy efficiency, conservation, and electrification initiatives for Iberdrola's network companies. The aim is to fulfill or surpass compliance, revenue, and regulatory goals.

This is achieved through effective collaboration with program implementation partners, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and various internal departments, including marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, legal, procurement, engineering, operations, and senior leadership.

A solid understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and the ability to influence utility regulators is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities


Existing Programs/Product Offerings: Accountable for driving growth, savings, and regulatory compliance for residential programs provided by Iberdrola's Connecticut subsidiaries.

The residential programs encompass energy efficiency and conservation initiatives such as multifamily projects, new residential construction, weatherization, income-based energy efficiency programs, behavioral modification, heat pumps, and efficient HVAC systems.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulating and executing comprehensive program/product strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Managing budget creation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to program/product support staff, including Energy Specialists, Program Vendors, Contractors, and Administrators.
  • Overseeing all vendor-related services, including initiating procurement processes, managing vendor activities, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Ensuring operational processes are efficient while adhering to quality assurance standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring programs meet client expectations and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conducting required internal and external reporting, including support for regulatory matters.
  • Calculating and documenting expected demand reductions and incentives, utilizing approved program savings documentation and other reasonable technical evaluation methods.
New Programs/Product Offerings: Responsible for the development and implementation of innovative residential energy efficiency and beneficial electrification programs:

  • Creating detailed proposals for recommended delivery channels, products, or programs based on knowledge of residential energy efficiency and conservation methods.
  • Implementing approved new offerings to achieve key success factors.
  • Providing direction and support to program/product support personnel.
  • Acting as the company liaison for program/product initiatives with utility regulators, municipal leaders, industry peers, equipment manufacturers, and trade allies to advance initiatives for the benefit of Iberdrola and its customers. This includes active participation in industry/regulatory technical and policy working groups and presenting at municipal and industry workshops and/or conferences.


Ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer issues related to program and product offerings through collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.


Proactively managing relationships and collaborating with electric and gas sales and products teams, conservation and load management, meter services, interconnections, key accounts, and economic development teams to support the achievement of Iberdrola's and regulatory targets in these areas.

Identifying and initiating process improvements through research, planning, change management, and training activities to enhance efficiencies, increase customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve profitability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, sustainability, business, public administration, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, and building science.
  • Certifications such as Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM), Certified Energy Manager (CEE), LEED-GA, or LEED-AP are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in managing energy efficiency or conservation programs, products, or projects is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the electric and gas utility industry is preferred.
  • Experience in regulatory environments, including filings, testimony, and support of proceedings is preferred but not required.
  • Results-oriented with strong critical and creative thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.).
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of presenting complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Strong cross-functional team skills, with a commitment to serving colleagues and providing excellent customer service.
  • Proven ability to work independently and engage at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary (approximately 10% of the time).
Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the electric and gas utility industry.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and industry standards.
  • Experience with SAP ERP Purchasing functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office365.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Word.
  • High proficiency in SharePoint and TEAMS.
  • Experience with Power BI, data analysis, and dashboards.
  • PDF Editing skills (Adobe, PDF X-Change Editor).
  • Familiarity with Enernet, eTRACK+, CRM/DSM Systems, DocuSign, and Ariba Purchasing systems (IBuy).
  • Understanding of legal documentation and purchasing procedures.
  • PROSCI Change Management Training & Certification.
