We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at CommuniCare Health Services Corporate.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments received. This is a full-time position based at our corporate office in Blue Ash, Cincinnati, offering a competitive salary of up to $18 per hour with larger bonus opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Self-Pay Account Management: Manage self-pay accounts data to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.

2. Data Updates: Update corrected patient demographic data and insurance information (if applicable) into our medical software system.

3. Outstanding Balance Collection: Contact private pay and self-pay patients to collect outstanding balances on accounts.

4. Payment Planning: Set up appropriate payment plans as approved by senior leadership.

5. Continuing Education: Attend payer seminars for continuing education in billing and accounts receivable.

6. Effective Communication: Effectively communicate with medical facility staff, patients, and/or insurance payers as needed.

7. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

1. High School Diploma: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Oral and Written Instructions: Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

3. Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize and complete designated tasks in a timely manner.

4. Cross-Training: Ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the revenue cycle and other billing systems.

5. Arithmetical Functions: Ability to perform accurate arithmetical functions involving whole numbers and percentages.

6. Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

7. Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

8. Previous Experience: Previous revenue cycle and collections experience preferred. Call center experience also preferred.
