Public Transportation Operator

As a Public Transportation Operator with RATP Dev USA, you will be responsible for safely operating transit buses on prescribed routes, conducting pre and post trip vehicle inspections, and providing excellent customer service to our passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate transit buses safely and efficiently on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
- Collect and record bus fares, and provide accurate change to customers as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to passenger inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise during their journey.
- Input information into computer-based equipment, such as Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) and Automatic Passenger Counter (APC), to track bus locations and passenger numbers.
- Assist passengers with disabilities, ensuring their safe boarding and transportation.
- Operate the two-way bus radio system, communicating with dispatch and other drivers as needed.
- Announce major streets, stops, and destinations, adhering to ADA regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the uniform application of the Labor Agreement, Performance Code, Safety Procedures, and Operational Bulletins.
Requirements
- Valid driver's history report from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), documenting a clean driving record for the past three to five years.
- Must be at least 18 years of age, with five years of experience in operating a motor vehicle preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with employees and the general public.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RATP Dev USA policies and procedures.
- Ability to problem-solve under stressful conditions and tight timelines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population.
- Ability to effectively manage and resolve customer conflicts.
