Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Operations Team Leader to oversee our Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) initiatives. This role involves consulting on vulnerability assessments, identifying new threat exposures, and leveraging cutting-edge security technologies. You will tackle complex challenges and devise innovative solutions while mentoring team members in both technical and operational competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network traffic for security incidents utilizing advanced cybersecurity tools.
  • Analyze and respond to security alerts to identify and mitigate potential cyber threats.
  • Conduct real-time incident investigations and generate comprehensive incident response reports.
  • Assess risks and implement defensive strategies against cyber-attacks.
  • Perform event correlation using data from various sources to enhance situational awareness.
  • Engage in threat intelligence analysis and stay informed on the evolving DoD cyber threat landscape.
  • Promote best practices for information security throughout the organization.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments using Situational Awareness Reports (SAR).
  • Review and triage Cyber Task Orders to identify vulnerabilities and report findings.
  • Translate orders into actionable tasks and track their progress for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with cyber defense teams to validate alerts and coordinate responses.
  • Provide weekly summaries of network events and activities pertinent to cyber defense.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center, incident response, threat hunting, or a similar DCO role.
  • 1+ years of experience in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in reviewing compliance with DoD policies and ensuring timely system compliance.
  • Experience in managing data spills and developing incident action reports.
  • Leadership experience in managing or guiding a small team.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • IAM Level II certification, such as CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in cybersecurity, incident response, and security compliance.
  • Proficiency with intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM tools.
  • Familiarity with FISMA compliance and continuous monitoring practices.
  • Strong analytical skills for threat detection and risk assessment.
