Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Nursing Instructor to teach Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) courses at Frederick Community College. The successful candidate will provide didactic and skills instruction to students, preparing them for the Maryland Board of Nursing exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons to meet educational requirements
  • Teach core skills related to CNA/GNA scope of practice
  • Evaluate student progress and provide remediation as needed
  • Prepare students for CNA and GNA testing
  • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical experiences
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in caring for the elderly or chronically ill
  • Coursework or experience in adult education or teaching
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher
  • Ability to prepare and present information in a classroom environment
  • Knowledge of basic ADL skills and personal care skills
  • Ability to supervise and assess students during clinical experiences
