Job Summary:The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:- Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to provide non-exposure of radiation to unaffected parts of the patient.
- Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Follows operational procedures to identify patient's films with name and x-ray number, correctly mark film as to side of the patient taken.
- Develops exposed x-ray film by processing methods available.
- Completes patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film.
- Maintains orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department.
- Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists physician in administering radiopaque mixtures to patient.
- Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient's instruction, film filing, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other administrative duties as required.
- National certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Current licensure in the state of New Jersey.
- 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM shift.
- 5 x 8 hour shifts per week.
- Weekends required as needed.
- No holiday requirement.
- No on-call requirement.
Tact Medical Staffing Job ID # Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
