About the Role

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Special Procedures Technician to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in conducting specialized radiologic procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, recommending procurement as needed.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling with admitting department, referring physicians, and inter-departmental sections.
  • Document charges and radiology charges for each exam.
  • Provide education and training to technologists and auxiliary personnel.
  • Ensure radiation safety standards are met throughout the department.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians in performing special procedures.
  • Calculate and select proper electronic and technical factors, position patients, and adjust x-ray tables for optimal radiographs.
  • Ensure patient safety during transfers and procedures.
  • Process radiographic images and prepare them for review by radiologists.
  • Organize and coordinate studies with previous x-ray images.
  • Use sterile techniques when assisting or setting up sterile trays and equipment.
  • Maintain the special procedures room for cleanliness and supplies.
  • Operate radiographic equipment in conjunction with mechanical injectors.
  • Provide direct patient care to all age groups.
  • Identify patient needs and modify care accordingly.
  • Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiography.
  • One-year experience in Special Procedures.
  • Registration with the ARRT.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Digital Radiography License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • VI Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or CV Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
