Job Description

Job Title: Site-Based Program Facilitator

About the Role: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) is seeking an experienced Site-Based Program Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our Site-Based team, you will be responsible for providing program facilitation, curriculum development, and college and career guidance to a cohort of 30 individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Site-Based program group facilitation, interfacing with school and corporate administrators, and on-site program management.
  • Work with the Site-Based Program Manager to build positive relationships with school partners to attract and retain qualified mentors and mentees.
  • Effectively use active and attentive listening to confirm understanding, coach mentoring matches through the use of reflective questioning, personalize communication content and delivery to fit different perspectives, backgrounds or styles of audience, and document information about matches clearly and concisely in order to keep records accurate and up to date.
  • Cultivate, steward and ultimately retain assigned school partners, mentors, and mentees.
  • Support with any enrollment functions including recruitment, interviews, and assessments of potential mentors and mentees.
  • Identify suitable potential matches and provide ongoing support to achieve length-of-match, closure and outcome evaluation goals.
  • Participate in the development of curriculum for the Site-Based Mentoring team.
  • Conduct enrollments including guardian, youth, and volunteer interviews youth safety education, and other intake procedures.
  • Review all enrollment and assessment information and make recommendations for program participation based on this information.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with national standards defined by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, including database and agency standards, Service Delivery Model, and Program Manual requirements.
  • Assess individual needs for each match participant to assure a positive youth development experience for the child and successful and satisfying experience for the mentor.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge in working with child/youth and families exposed to trauma, issues related to living in poverty and any other adverse experiences.
  • Work in coordination with the Sr. Manager of Site-Based Programs with any child safety concerns or reporting to LA County Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Facilitate introductory match meetings between the volunteer and children once newly matched.
