ICU Registered Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to execute patient plans of care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document patient assessments at the time of admission
  • Create a plan of care, including discharge plans, and revise plans based on patient response to treatment
  • Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses
  • Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
  • Review new physician orders, ensure orders are carried out and documented correctly, and notify other departments of orders and services
  • Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Charge Nurse and on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care
Requirements:
  • 1 year experience in a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) role
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited Nursing program AND/OR current enrollment in an Alternative Entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
