Job Summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Structural Bridge Engineer to lead our Transportation Structural Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of engineers to deliver high-quality bridge design projects to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver bridge design projects
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions for complex bridge design projects
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their expectations
  • Manage and supervise engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in bridge design and engineering
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a major in Structural Engineering
  • Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (SE)
  • 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, including experience with advanced typical and complex structures
  • Engineer-of-Record with hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design, including codes, calculations, reports, and final structural contract documents
  • Knowledge and experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams
  • Project management and client management skills and experience
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer Connect Edition (LEAP Bridge Steel, LEAP Bridge Concrete, RM Bridge, etc.), LEAP CONSYS, LPile, Erikkson Culvert, AASHTOWare BrR, RISA-3D, SPW911, Mathcad/Mathcad Prime, Enercalc, BlueBeam, or other Finite-Element or Foundation analysis/design software
