Job Summary

The Field Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our yard and transportation functions. This position is responsible for supervising a team of technicians, coordinating activities, and driving efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all yard activities, supervising a team of technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Coordinator and Routers to optimize routing efficiencies, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Analyze and report on operational activities, including routing efficiency, labor and overtime, fuel consumption, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve customer service issues and ensure excellent communication within the division.
  • Work with Operations Supervisors at other yards to coordinate asset transfers and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels to meet customer and branch needs, ensuring adequate resources to support business growth.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating logistics for special events and projects, ensuring timely delivery and pick-up of assets.
  • Review and approve paperwork from drivers, including manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, and DVIRs, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Approve time-off requests and schedule time off based on operational needs, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Oversee fleet DOT administration, including log book maintenance and record keeping.
  • Administer the Company's safety program for drivers, working with Safety and HR to coordinate safety training and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and conduct performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to team members to drive performance improvement.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field and/or training.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of leading diverse teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent customer service, team building, organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements

  • Sit while answering phones or responding to emails.
  • Repeat the same movements when entering data at the computer.
  • See details of objects within a few feet.
  • Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
