Nuclear Medicine Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including general and cardiac nuclear medicine exams.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication according to approved exam parameters.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical doses and patient information.
- Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
- Post-process images and accurately identify and label images.
- Perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
- Identify and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
Requirements:
- Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent knowledge.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and 20 lbs. over the head.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
