Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to nuclear medicine procedures, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, conducting diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures using nuclear medicine equipment, including general and cardiac procedures.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication according to approved exam parameters.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical doses and patient information.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nuclear Medicine.
Working Conditions

This is a casual position in our nuclear medicine department, requiring call requirements that can be discussed during the interview process. The successful candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday, and will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids.
