Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at KCO Resource Management. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and innovating in the heart of the dairy industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing operations business plans to ensure efficiency, quality control, and team leadership.
  • Provide input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
  • Establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Guide the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Review production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Responsible for the successful attainment of production objectives, implementation of policies, and most effective utilization of available resources and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, environmental, safety, and working conditions.
  • Ensure effective communication between shifts and other departments by ensuring established communication methods regarding company performance and safety.
  • Assist in designing, improving, and installing equipment and systems to improve plant efficiency and meet plant needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 5+ years experience in operations management.
  • 5+ years experience in a high-volume food/beverage production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Operations management responsibility in a 24/7 operation.
  • Budgeting and planning experience required.
  • Must have managed other operational functions such as projects, processing, and packaging.
  • Experience in building functional teams.
  • Experience with filling, and packaging.
