Mount Mary University is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in our Graduate Art Therapy program. As a member of our academic community, you will contribute to the realization of our Mission by teaching, mentoring, and advising students.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Prepare and deliver instruction in a range of graduate art therapy courses, incorporating effective teaching practices and assessing student performance.
- Student Advising and Mentoring: Provide academic advisement and mentoring to students, fostering their growth and development.
- Service to the Department and University: Contribute to curriculum development, ongoing program review, and service to the Department, with a focus on building community within and outside the graduate program.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity, including research, publications, and presentations.
- Education: PhD or DAT (Doctor of Art Therapy) strongly preferred; Master of Science or Master of Art in Art Therapy required.
- Certifications: ATR-BC (Art Therapist-Registered, Board Certified) required or plan to acquire within the first three months of hire.
- Experience: At least five years of experience working as an art therapist, with experience teaching art therapy at the graduate level and working with diverse student populations.
- Leadership Experience: Experience working as an art therapist in multiple settings and populations, with experience supervising students and providing clinical supervision.
- Eligibility for Licensure: Eligibility for the Wisconsin counseling license.
- Research and Scholarship: Significant experience in research and scholarship, with a strong publication record.
