Position Overview:
The Operations Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing labor management and the planning of inbound and outbound logistics, product organization, and customer communication on a daily basis. Responsibilities include labor scheduling, optimizing space utilization, and managing equipment and workforce effectively. The Team Leader is tasked with supervising the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of products, ensuring alignment with company service and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates team meetings to discuss daily and weekly operations, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Keeps senior management and client representatives updated on significant operational issues.
  • Develops and implements systems and procedures for safe and profitable management of operations, equipment, and products, adhering to company policies.
  • Identifies and executes cost-saving initiatives while suggesting improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Meets all client-specific KPIs and adheres to quality system requirements.
  • Leads operations to achieve set objectives, utilizing effective communication and motivational strategies.
  • Conducts training and performance evaluations for warehouse staff, ensuring professional development.
  • Plans daily work schedules based on existing orders and customer instructions, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Monitors job progress and trends, planning for necessary adjustments in warehouse organization and staffing.
  • Trains new employees and assesses their progress, delegating training tasks as necessary.
  • Maintains communication with management regarding operational progress and challenges.
  • Assists in physical operations as required, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Encourages team motivation and provides growth opportunities for team members.
  • Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and trains team members accordingly.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a logistics or distribution environment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior certification in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is advantageous.
Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and planning abilities.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and flexible schedules.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically low to moderate in noise, with minimal exposure to hazardous materials. Employees are expected to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods.
