Position Overview:

The Senior Buyer is tasked with providing expert purchasing support for significant Engineering, Procurement, and Construction initiatives. This role requires extensive interaction with both internal teams and external suppliers to negotiate and acquire heavy industrial machinery. DSJ Global is seeking a candidate who can grow within this pivotal function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Requests for Quotation (RFQ) or Proposal (RFP) documents that align with the defined specifications and scopes of work, ensuring all technical, commercial, and quality standards are met.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Coordinators, Expeditors, and Engineers, both locally and internationally, to enhance purchasing processes and resolve any purchasing challenges.
  • Analyze market pricing and engage in negotiations aimed at improving efficiency through cost reductions, logistics optimization, delivery timelines, and payment conditions.
  • Support sourcing efforts to fulfill project-related purchasing and supply requirements.
  • Identify and address potential delays, escalating issues as necessary to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Accurately document and oversee the management of purchase orders and their delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in roles focused on Negotiation and Purchasing.
  • Demonstrated experience in procuring Large and Heavy equipment for plant and facility development and expansion.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience or familiarity with turbomachinery or related energy equipment manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in multicultural work environments.
  • Ability to operate efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong planning and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
