Position Overview:

The Senior Buyer will play a pivotal role in providing advanced procurement support for substantial Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects. This position requires extensive interaction with both internal teams and external suppliers to negotiate and acquire heavy industrial machinery. Our client, a global frontrunner in the industry, seeks an individual who can grow and excel within this capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Requests for Quotation (RFQ) or Proposal (RFP) documents that align with project specifications and scopes of work, encompassing all technical, commercial, and quality criteria.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Coordinators, Expeditors, and Engineers, both locally and internationally, to enhance procurement processes and resolve purchasing challenges.
  • Analyze market pricing and engage in negotiations aimed at improving efficiency through cost reductions, logistics optimization, delivery timelines, and payment conditions.
  • Support sourcing initiatives to fulfill project-related procurement and supply requirements.
  • Identify and address any delays proactively, escalating issues as necessary to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and management of purchase order deliveries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in negotiation and procurement-focused roles.
  • Prior experience in purchasing large and heavy equipment for plant and facility construction and expansion projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience or familiarity with turbomachinery or related energy equipment manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in multicultural work environments.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong planning and analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
