Job Summary

A Senior/Staff Facilities Engineer is a key contributor in a multidisciplinary field of engineering responsible for the physical infrastructure of an industrial facility.

Engineers in this role are accountable for the design, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, construction, modernization, design and protection of physical facilities and equipment (building, power, water, sewer, chemical, piping, ventilation, lighting, space utilization, furniture, etc.) used to produce quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vendors to initiate and complete the installation of new equipment at Bosch facilities.
  • Develop and prepare designs, layouts, drawings, and bills of material for major maintenance, facility improvements, and other projects.
  • Modify existing equipment and systems to enhance efficiency, safety, reliability, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot problems with facility systems and develop corrective action proposals and recommendations.
  • Establish and provide standard operating procedures and specifications governing the operation and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
  • Develop installation packages for the hook-up, demolition, or relocation of production equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statutes, and codes; securing all required permits; and coordinating with appropriate authorities.
  • Initiate and implement continuous improvement programs using metrics and reporting systems.
  • Train facilities mechanics as needed on systems to improve 24x7 response time.

Key Qualifications

Proficiency in designing, installing, operating, maintaining, modifying, constructing, modernizing, designing, and protecting physical facilities and equipment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot facility systems and develop corrective action proposals.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with vendors, facilities mechanics, and other stakeholders.
