Support Specialist for Personal Care

Join CCRES as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) and contribute positively to the lives of students in need of support. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work within an educational environment, assisting students with special needs.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly wage of $22, increasing to $25.50 over time (W2 employment).
SCHEDULE:
PCAs will be required to work on all student days throughout the academic year, with general hours from approximately 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM for secondary students or 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM for elementary students.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct support to students under the guidance of teachers and special education supervisors.
- Assist students who require intensive behavioral support, including those exhibiting self-injurious behaviors or aggression.
- Offer instructional, behavioral, and physical assistance to individual students or small groups, utilizing assistive technology and promoting social skills.
- Help students develop organizational skills and monitor their progress in various activities.
- Collect daily data and document progress notes in a specified format for each session.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: Minimum of two years of post-secondary education (48 credits).
- Experience in public schools or with school-aged children in a licensed or certified setting is preferred.
CREDENTIALS:
Clearances must be obtained within the last 12 months, including:
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
- PA Criminal Clearance (Act 34)
- PA Department of Education FBI Clearance
- Current TB Screening (within 3 months)
- Education Documentation (Diploma or Official Transcripts)
