Director of Nursing Services

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nursing Department Manager to join our team at MedStar Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department, ensuring the provision of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care.
As a Nursing Department Manager, you will direct and coordinate the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel. You will also collaborate with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and MedStar Health's policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program and 3-4 years progressive nursing care experience. A Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field is preferred. Additionally, specialty certification from a nationally recognized nursing organization is highly desirable.
With a focus on quality patient care and safety initiatives, you will lead unit-based safety huddles and escalate care delivery concerns to the Director of Nursing and other leaders as needed. You will also contribute to the development, implementation, and management of the unit/department-based budget and support the organizational objectives, patient care standards, and quality of care.
In this role, you will foster associates' commitment to improving quality, safety, and cost-conscious patient care outcomes. You will also maintain effective relationships and partnerships across disciplines and departments to ensure the delivery of efficient and quality patient care services.
