Job Overview:

The Substation Engineer will be responsible for executing civil engineering designs for high voltage substation projects. This includes the design of steel structures and concrete foundations that meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform civil engineering design work for high voltage substations, focusing on structural integrity and compliance.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for design calculations and construction processes.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to project timelines and objectives.
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on quality assurance and continuous improvement throughout project phases.
  • Engage in technical review meetings with clients to discuss project specifications and updates.

Compensation: $85,000 - $125,000+ based on experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in civil design for high voltage substations.
  • EIT Certification is required.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and the National Electrical Safety Code.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Professional Engineer's license or the ability to obtain one within two years.
  • Experience in proposal writing and project cost estimation.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and project management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
