Substation Graduate Engineer - P&C

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Engineering team in our Madison, WI office.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the design and development of utility-scale substation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for protection and control design, preparing reports and specifications, and reviewing project submittals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop protection and control systems for utility-scale substation projects
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and drawing packages
  • Review and approve project submittals and RFIs
  • Provide technical support to multiple Westwood projects
  • Collaborate with internal and external project managers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quality of own and others' work
  • Ability to use sound engineering judgment
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively
