Compassionate Animal Transport Specialist

Reports To: Transport Program Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Transport Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our operations by safely and responsibly transporting animals to various locations, including adoption events and shelter facilities. You will be tasked with ensuring that all animals are moved in accordance with their behavioral and medical needs.
- Assist shelter staff with additional duties as required, such as transporting animals to external facilities, delivering supplies, and handling mail.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in Arizona.
- Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
- At least one year of relevant work experience.
- Preferred experience in animal handling.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- All transport roles require operation of AHS vehicles and are classified as safety-sensitive positions. Candidates must possess a clean driving record and pass drug and background screenings to qualify as an AHS driver.
In this role, you will frequently drive vehicles, stand, walk, and use your hands for various tasks. You may need to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and navigate various physical environments, including exposure to temperature changes, animal sounds, and other conditions typical of a shelter setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
