About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Specialist to join our team at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care and support for our shelter dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities.
  • Conduct daily shelter welfare rounds to ensure the well-being of the animals and address any issues that may arise.
  • Interact with customers in person and provide exceptional customer service to promote animal adoptions.
  • Update animal records and perform data entry to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least six months of in-person customer service work experience.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an animal shelter with exposure to extreme and varying temperatures, excessive noise, and animal waste and fluids.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.
