Job Summary

This GS-12 role serves as the Prevention Specialist for the Department of Defense, working closely with the Prevention Lead to develop and implement comprehensive prevention plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral or social sciences, with experience in developing valid and reliable data collection methods to assess prevention efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising senior leaders on primary prevention activities, educating leaders on integrated primary prevention, and ensuring the delivery of ongoing primary prevention training and education. They will also design process and outcome evaluation plans before implementation of primary prevention activities and conduct data analysis to determine effectiveness.

This is a full-time position that requires occasional travel (15% of the time) and may require TDY or business travel of 25% or more depending on the location. The selected individual must obtain and maintain Level 5 DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP) and complete DoD SPARX Knowledge Parts 1 and 2 within 6 months of employment.
