Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Co-Op to join our team at ECS Group of Companies. As a Geotechnical Co-Op, you will assist with performing and recommending lab testing, drafting boring logs and location diagrams, and scheduling drill rigs for geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with performing and/or recommending lab testing
  • Draft boring logs and location diagrams
  • Schedule drill rigs for geotechnical projects
  • Obtain utility clearance for subsurface explorations
  • Assist with determining appropriate subsurface exploration program and preparing drilling instructions
  • Perform boring and test pit layouts using conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
  • Classify soil samples
  • Perform hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samples
  • Observe foundation or ground improvement installations
Requirements
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related degree
  • Interest in how structures are supported and a desire to think outside the box
  • Previous internship experience is a plus
  • Ability to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites
