Geotechnical Engineering Intern Position Available

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join our team at Arup. As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including preparing desk study reports, using and managing subsurface information database systems, and observing construction site works and geotechnical investigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare desk study reports on sites due for development
- Use and manage subsurface information database systems
- Observe construction site works and geotechnical investigation
- Log and describe properties of geological (soil and rock) materials to aid design and construction works
- Prepare laboratory test schedules
- Interpret subsurface conditions and understand their impact on design and construction
- Carry-out shallow and deep foundation design, slope stability calculations, and seismic assessments
- Support the completion of temporary support-of-excavation designs, including for basements, shafts, and cut-and-cover tunnels/subway stations
- Conduct preliminary ground movement predictions, hydrogeological impact and building damage assessments
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (e.g.structural, civil, bridges & civil structures) to designs for subsurface elements
- Observe the installation of subsurface elements during construction
Requirements:
- Pursuing Master's or PhD of Science in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering/Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for team-based working
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges
- Able to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work, and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Proficient in developing code and common coding languages
- Proficient in geotechnical engineering analysis software preferred
