Job Summary

Hendrick Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will optimize patient medications therapy by providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services.

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager and the Pharmacy Director, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to accomplish goals. Your expertise will be essential in providing knowledge of disease, drug therapy, non-drug therapy, laboratory and diagnostic testing, communication skills, patient monitoring skills, physical assessment skills, drug information skills, and therapeutic planning skills.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm D. or Master of Pharmacy. Additionally, you must have a minimum of three years of experience as a licensed pharmacist with enhanced clinical responsibilities.

Required licenses and certifications include active registration as a licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas, Sterile Compounding Certification, ACLS or PALS, and Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or specialty certification in an area related to assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform medication consults, including total parenteral nutrition
  • Assist with pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents
  • Provide internal and external education
  • Perform medication/drug use evaluation
  • Present data/reports at various committees
  • Direct and/or supervise personnel as appropriate
  • Handle confidential information
  • Maintain professional appearance and decorum at all times
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
