Job Overview:
Shriners Children's is a premier medical center specializing in pediatric burn, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties. We are currently seeking a Culinary Support Specialist to join our dedicated team.

This role is per diem, non-exempt, and eligible for benefits. Compensation for this position is competitive and based on experience and departmental equity.

Shift Details:
Varied shifts are available to fill gaps, with a requirement to work every other weekend:

  • 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
  • 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM
  • 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
  • 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
The Culinary Support Specialist will undertake various tasks related to meal preparation and distribution for patients, visitors, and staff at Shriners Hospitals, Philadelphia Unit.

  • Kitchen Sanitation: Adhere to all state, federal, and local sanitation regulations.
  • Patient Feeding: Ensure timely delivery of meals as per tally sheets.
  • Cafeteria Operations: Maintain cleanliness, stock condiments, and ensure all non-food items are available for customers.
  • Catering Events: Set up catering events promptly and ensure they are presentable as directed by management.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare desserts and other food items that do not require oven use, ensuring they are visually appealing.
  • Customer Service: Provide polite and timely service to all customers.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in food preparation or distribution preferred.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
