Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of new missions with our existing program technical baseline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain improvement roadmaps
  • Work with program leadership to ensure effective risk mitigation, testing, and opportunity capture
  • Collaborate with factory and operations personnel to ensure quality manufacturing processes
  • Work with suppliers to establish component requirements and verification efforts
  • Use systems thinking to contribute to program execution, staffing, and technical reporting
  • Requirements management and tracking to support program deliverables
  • Support and attend technical inspection reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program as the systems architect

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of experience, or an advanced degree with eight (8) years and the experience below:
  • Architecture governance and System Engineering design principles
  • Ground and mobile EOIR systems with an understanding of vehicle integration
  • System architecture in systems that interact with external entities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to decompose and communicate system architecture and governance concepts
  • Experience working on projects and/or programs consisting of Ground-related SE, SW development, and IV&V functions
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders and individual contributors across the organization
  • Experience with different Architecture Frameworks
  • DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
  • Work in and/or with multiple Engineering Disciplines (Software, Database, Infrastructure, Security, Systems, and/or Test)

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
