Position Overview:

VSP Retail, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Vision Care Technician to join our team. We are committed to enhancing the eye health of our community through exceptional service and quality eyewear.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in daily optical lab operations, including managing patient orders and production tasks.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by effectively communicating with patients and vendors regarding any order delays or issues.
  • Coordinate the ordering of lenses and frames from designated labs or vendors based on specific vision plans.
  • Handle shipping tasks, ensuring timely processing of time-sensitive shipments and maintaining accurate records.
  • Receive and organize incoming frames and lenses, directing them to appropriate in-house trays or external labs as needed.
  • Monitor product orders for any delays or back orders, proactively resolving any issues that arise.
  • Support inventory management by stocking lenses, sorting and distributing trays, and conducting cosmetic inspections.
  • Assist in ordering lab supplies and liaising with vendors for consumables, troubleshooting any problems that may occur.
  • Contribute to the efficient workflow within the department while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and collaborate with other departments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • One to two years of relevant experience in optical or related fields.
  • Ability to meet productivity and quality standards set by the department.
  • Effective communication skills to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and follow established procedures.
  • Willingness to stand or walk for extended periods.
