Preventative Maintenance Planner

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO) is seeking a skilled Preventative Maintenance Planner to join our team at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing preventative maintenance (PM) procedures to support operations at WIPP. This includes coordinating with subject matter experts and safety professionals to identify hazards and select appropriate controls, utilizing procedure writer's manual and work control document template to ensure compliance, and revising and issuing PMs in the Electronic Document Management System (D2).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement PM procedures to support operations at WIPP
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and safety professionals to identify hazards and select appropriate controls
  • Utilize procedure writer's manual and work control document template to ensure compliance
  • Revising and issuing PMs in the Electronic Document Management System (D2)
  • Develop proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CHAMPS)
  • Incorporate Craft feedback and Lessons Learned in planning activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree, or
  • Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Operations or Maintenance experience within the DOE complex or commercial nuclear industry
  • Maintenance experience/certification (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls)
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to maintenance activities
  • Procedure Professionals Association certification
  • Previous WIPP Project experience

Starting salary $67,817 per year
