As a Medical Specialist, you will be responsible for performing physical examinations and establishing medical histories to determine donor suitability. You will also build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction and ensure donor and staff confidentiality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing physical examinations and establishing medical histories to determine donor suitability
  • Building rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring donor and staff confidentiality
  • Providing donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results
  • Evaluating and managing donor injuries and adverse events
  • Performing evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
  • Assisting in employee training
  • Administering employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Requirements include:

Being educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, or Emergency Medical Technicians. Current CPR certification is required.
