Position SummaryThe Senior Scientist in Biology will lead the development and execution of in vitro studies to evaluate novel drug conjugates for applications in oncology and other areas of unmet medical need. This role is lab-facing and on-site, with a competitive title and compensation package based on experience and relevant skills.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and execute on the development and optimizations of in vitro biochemical and cellular assays to evaluate novel payloads, antibodies, and drug conjugates on cell culture and ex vivo samples.
- Oversee and contribute to the design and execution of in vitro studies for target validation.
- Establish robust in-house capabilities to perform in vitro experiments with high throughput.
- Contribute to the understanding of program biology and participate in new target recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with protein sciences and chemistry teams.
- Oversee cell line procurement, evaluation of optimal culture conditions, expansion, storage, and cell line inventory.
- Participate in biology and project teams with clear communication and presentations.
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with a Ph.D. in cancer, cell, or molecular biology or a closely related field, with > 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing and executing in vitro experiments to validate targets and treatment ideas using ADCs, mAbs, degraders, or small molecules.
Expertise in target validation and cell signaling work is preferred. The candidate should have experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, cell viability assays, Western blot analysis, cell-based fluorescence and chemiluminescence assays, and cell line engineering.
Proven capabilities in maintenance of cell line health and longevity, as well as experience with handling animal and human tissues, are essential. The candidate should be highly organized, diligent, and quality-focused with good computer and documentation skills.
Creativity and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to excel in a highly collaborative environment are required. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.
Additional SkillsGood utility of bioinformatic tools for target validation and experience in IHC and/or proteomics are desirable.
