Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers in the design development, analysis, and review of complex engineering projects.
- Develop and implement engineering solutions to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system specifications and requirements.
- Establish and maintain a filing system or databases for tracking project status.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
- Interface with customers at all levels to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
- Conduct site visits, experimental investigations, and analyze engineering problems to propose solutions and alternatives.
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
- Prepare and deliver technical papers and perform engineering studies.
- Support the development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (or equivalent education).
- 7+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience in the modeling, analysis, and design of heavy industrial steel structures and foundations.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318.
- In-depth knowledge of STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post-processing.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Professional Engineer Registration.
- Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.
- In-depth knowledge of AISC Seismic Design Provisions, i.e., AISC 341.
- Basic knowledge of nuclear facility design codes including ACI 349, AISC - N690, ASCE 43, and DOE-STD-1020.
- Working knowledge of seismic response spectrum analysis.
- Working knowledge of ANSYS analysis software.
Amentum offers a competitive benefits package and a salary range of $95K - $145K Annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
