Job Summary

Associated Ready Mixed Concrete is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Tractor Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Truck Tech III, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on our fleet of heavy-duty tractors, ensuring they are in compliance with DOT and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on tractors, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Inspect and identify vehicle conditions, including wear and tear on equipment and systems.
  • Replace, install, and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and lighting electrical systems.
  • Replace, install, and service mixer truck equipment, product transfer systems, starting systems, steering systems, transmissions, wheels, hubs, and bearings.
  • Replace, install, and service frame components and diagnose electronic control systems.
  • Replace, install, and service charging systems, clutches, and drive lines, and suspension systems.
  • Inspect and identify vehicle conditions on different types of equipment, such as tractors, trailers, or mixers.
  • Install, select, or identify proper tire replacements and ensure compliance with legal limits.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle system engine failure and vehicle system transmission and gear box failure.
  • Follow manufacturer service and troubleshooting procedures, diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle Aftertreatment systems, Advance Electrical systems, Air brake system, and brake valve diagnose.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle Hydraulic system failure.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC failure diagnose.
  • Complete all maintenance duties as assigned, and repair all equipment on property, including diesel, plant, or yard equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Preferred: Associates degree, technical school certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience working on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience welding.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is regularly exposed to wet or slippery ground conditions. Employees must wear the required personal protective equipment; up to and including safety vest, hard hat, ear protection, gloves, and safety glasses. Able to climb height up to 10 feet.
