About the Role

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will work closely with children and adults with special needs, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior management techniques to prevent and intervene in challenging behaviors
  • Collaborate with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to develop and implement behavior intervention plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in crisis
  • Review and implement behavior intervention plans, ensuring that they are tailored to the individual's needs
  • Assist in facilitating academic instruction and supporting students in developing independent living skills
  • Document session data and maintain accurate records
  • Collect and analyze behavioral and academic data to inform treatment plans
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals, including supervisors, coworkers, and clients
