Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Urology

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Urology team at VHC Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our medical staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). This includes administering medications, performing various medical procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Assist RNs with medical procedures, such as catheterizations and injections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and hospital policies.
Requirements:
  • Certificate in nursing required.
  • One year of healthcare/medical - nursing/patient care experience preferred.
  • Licensed as an LPN by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
  • BLS certification required.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and long hours. The employee must be able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods, and be able to push patients on stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds from one area to another.

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. The employee must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress associated with this position.
