Role Summary

The Senior Project Planning Manager will oversee internal preconstruction initiatives and play a crucial role in advancing Hanwha Qcells USA's mission to be the premier solar solution provider in the Americas. This position is integral to the EPC management team, requiring a solid foundation in construction and engineering principles to effectively lead project planning and management efforts for large-scale ground-mounted PV and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Direct and mentor project planning managers throughout the preconstruction lifecycle, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Estimation and Cost Management: Coordinate with the Estimating department to ensure project deliverables align with timelines and requirements.
  • Project Planning and Risk Assessment: Assist in crafting comprehensive project execution plans, identifying risks and mitigation strategies for successful outcomes.
  • EPC Contract Management: Lead the drafting of Owner requested LNTPs and collaborate with legal and contract managers to ensure compliance with project schedules.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and manage client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a graduate degree is highly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, construction, or a related industry, with at least 1 year in solar development.
  • Proven track record in designing and constructing large-scale solar power plants, particularly in the Americas.
  • Comprehensive understanding of renewable power plant development phases, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
