We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dietitian to join our team at East Ridge Retirement Village. Responsibilities:- Develop and implement written dietary service objectives and standards for the Health Center.
- Ensure menus and department policies conform to nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
- Review resident diet information and discuss requests, changes, and inconsistencies with residents, associates, and medical director as necessary.
- Liaison with healthcare disciplines to ensure residents are receiving the appropriate diet and continuous quality dining experiences that result in high satisfaction.
- Inspect food preparation and storage areas in the main kitchen and pantries to ensure standards are achieved and maintained.
- Taste, smell, and observe food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
- Assist in the development of all menus for East Ridge Retirement Village, assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
- Conduct bi-weekly inspections of the Food and Beverage Department to monitor and ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations.
- Monitor and ensure dietary needs of residents are being met.
- Oversee the Health Center Dining Room during all meal times to ensure courteous and efficient service of high quality nutritional meals.
- Assist in conducting staff education to Food and Beverage Associates in accordance with the staff education plan and provide on-the-job training.
- Complete the nutritional status portion of the computerized MDS according to the schedule established by the MDS Coordinator.
- Establish resident care plans based on the triggers identified by MDS while being vigilant in addressing problems that may not be identified by the MDS.
- Maintain detailed food preferences and desires of residents and provide resident choice options as appropriate.
- Monitor and document resident weights as well as implement interventions as needed.
- Implement and monitor proper food handling and sanitation techniques to ensure proper infection control.
- Assure that assessments and quarterly notes are timely and accurately, containing all required information.
- Maintain pertinent and appropriate records and reports, schedules, and studies as required by local, State, and Federal regulations (i.e., meals census, cleaning schedules).
- Ensure that the dietetic service in the Health Center is in compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations related to modified diets, service, sanitation, and personnel.
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field.
- Current and active Registered Dietitian license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of two years' experience working as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.
