Dietitian (PRN) - Nutrition Expert

The Registered Dietitian (PRN) is responsible for assessing the dietary and health needs of our Residents, developing meal plans, and ensuring quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and maintains written dietary service objectives and standards for the Health Center.
- Ensures menus and department policies conform to nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
- Reviews resident diet information and discusses requests, changes, and inconsistencies with Residents, Associates, and Medical Director as necessary.
- Liaisons with healthcare disciplines to ensure Residents are receiving the appropriate diet and continuous quality dining experiences that result in high satisfaction.
- Inspects food preparation and storage areas in the main kitchen and pantries to ensure standards are achieved and maintained.
- Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
- Assists in the development of all menus for East Ridge Retirement Village, assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
- Conducts bi-weekly inspections of the Food and Beverage Department to monitor and ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations.
- Monitors and ensures dietary needs of Residents are being met.
- Oversees the Health Center Dining Room during all meal times to ensure courteous and efficient service of high-quality nutritional meals.
- Assists in conducting staff education to Food and Beverage Associates in accordance with the staff education plan and provides on-the-job training.
- Completes the nutritional status portion of the computerized MDS according to the schedule established by the MDS Coordinator.
- Establishes resident care plans based on the triggers identified by MDS while being vigilant in addressing problems that may not be identified by the MDS.
- Maintains detailed food preferences and desires of residents and provides resident choice options as appropriate.
- Monitors and documents resident weights as well as implements interventions as needed.
- Implement and monitor proper food handling and sanitation techniques to ensure proper infection control.
- Assure that assessments and quarterly notes are timely and accurately, containing all required information.
- Maintains pertinent and appropriate records and reports, schedules, and studies as required by local, State, and Federal regulations (i.e., meals census, cleaning schedules).
- Ensures that the dietetic service in the Health Center is in compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations related to modified diets, service, sanitation, and personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field.
- Current and active Registered Dietitian license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of two years' experience working as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.
