Asphalt Paver Operator

ELLSWORTH CONSTRUCTION LLC is seeking a skilled Asphalt Paver Operator to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, ensuring smooth material flow, and maintaining a safe working environment.

• Perform pre-start inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Operate the asphalt paver, monitoring material flow from truck to hopper and directing truck operators as needed.
• Adjust material flow and maintain a consistent speed to achieve optimal paving results.
• Align the machine and monitor the first several loads of mix carefully to ensure quality.
• Clean the machine as soon as paving is complete to prevent material from hardening.
• Communicate with other operators to adjust settings, material, or mat surface as needed.
• Prioritize safety at all times, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
• Manage supplies for the paver to ensure optimal performance.

• Meet all safety requirements, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with a diverse team, following directions and completing daily tasks.
• Communicate effectively with the job foreman to report any issues or concerns.
• Be available to work overtime and travel as required, with occasional overnight trips.
• Report to work on time and maintain a professional attitude towards colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
• Remain alert and focused on the job site at all times.

• Work in various weather conditions, exposed to outdoor elements.
• Lift and carry 5-25 lbs. frequently, 25-50 lbs. often, and occasionally with assistance.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, shoveling, or walking for a minimum of 8 hours per day without fatigue.

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and industrial physical.
• Hold a valid driver's license, with a CDL a plus.
